Powering South Sudan’s Oilfields: NDS’s Role in Blocks 3 & 7

Since 2016, Nile Drilling & Services Co. Ltd (NDS) has stood at the forefront of South Sudan’s oil and gas development particularly in the strategic Blocks 3 & 7, home to major fields like Adar Gasab. As a trusted local partner to Dar Petroleum Operating Company (DPOC), NDS has delivered consistent, reliable oilfield solutions through challenging conditions and evolving market demands.

Our journey began with integrated drilling, workover, and construction manpower services. From 2016 to 2020, NDS successfully executed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) for surface facilities in the region, a testament to our end-to-end project capabilities.

In 2017, we supported DPOC’s drilling campaign by supplying, coating, and delivering line pipes for the Melut Basin Oil Development Project. The following year, NDS invested in its future by acquiring two service rigs (650 HP and 450 HP) and mobilizing them to Paloch. Since April 2021, our 450 HP rig has been actively delivering workover services—keeping wells productive and efficient.

Today, NDS continues to supply coated line pipes under the 2019 Melut Basin project, while also preparing to deploy our 650 HP rig and responding to tenders from other Joint Operating Companies (JOCs).

As a subsidiary of Nile Petroleum Corporation, we combine national commitment with technical excellence—proving that South Sudanese companies can lead in complex energy operations.
